Sentinel Scholars: Academic Achievements

  • Over 60% of our recent graduates were honored with a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway completion distinction.
  • SpHS is a 2024 AP School Honor Roll PLATINUM recipient for developing an AP program that creates a college-going culture and gives students opportunities to earn college credit and to maximize their college outcomes.
  • SpHS is an AVID Accredited school. 8% of our secondary students are enrolled in the AVID elective and AVID WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies are employed schoolwide.
  • SpHS has 101 students enrolled in Advanced Placement Courses Students took over 19 different AP Exams in SY 23-24
  • SpHS students have been selected to present their original research at the JSHS competition.
  • All students have both a 4-year and career plan created with SchooLinks.

Sentinel Showcases: Extracurricular Excellence

  • SpHS students participated in FBLA, ISLI, Junior Leadership Seminar, Creative Connections, Model United Nations (MUN), STEMposium, DramaFest and Educators Rising.
  • SpHS is the only Air Force JROTC unit to be chosen to admit 8th grade cadets.
  • SpHS has placed in the Cafe Europe Culinary Competition the last three years and has hosted this competition for the past four years.
  • More than 20 SpHS Culinary Arts students work in restaurants or food outlets on base.
  • 80% of Video Communications students passed the course with industry and/or college credentials by passing the NOCTI assessment.
  • Our JROTC, AVID, and Video Communications students collaborate with the complex Spangdahlem Schools and their students.
  • We have been involved in Creative Connections for years and placed second in 2023 and first in 2024.

School Goals

Spangdahlem HS Schoolwide Goals

ELA: 

 By the end of SY 2025-2026, grades 9 and 10 will increase the percentage of students meeting the benchmark by 5% over two years from 88% to 93% as reported on the PSAT.  

 By the end of SY 2025-2026, grade 11 will increase the percentage of students meeting the benchmark by 5% over two years from 71% to 76% as reported on the SAT School Day.  

Mathematics:

By the end of SY 2025-2026, grades 9 and 10 will increase the percentage of students meeting the benchmark by 5% over two years from 49.4% to 54.4% as reported on the PSAT.

By the end of SY 2025-2026, grade 11 will increase the percentage of students meeting the benchmark by 5% over two years from 35% to 40% as reported on the SAT School Day.
