Principal's Corner

Guten Tag SpHS Families,

As the proud principal of the mighty, mighty Sentinels, it is my pleasure to officially welcome you to SY 25-26. Of course, if you are new to our school, we send a special “welcome to our family”. If you are returning, I am so excited to have you back in Sentinel Nation. The beginning of a new school year is always a time of excitement and possibilities. It is an opportunity for growth, learning, and forging new connections within our school community.

It is the SpHS mission to help every student feel welcomed, connected, and inspired, so please feel free to call or come by if you need help getting acclimated, guidance, or simply need to talk.  We believe that a sense of belonging is essential for success. To support this, we've established structures such as your seminar class, which serves as your homebase. Your seminar teacher and classmates are your family…your tribe. When in doubt, remember to channel your "tribe," AKA your “Seminar Peeps”!

Additionally, as we dive into this academic adventure, let us remember that each student, educator, staff member, and family play a vital role in the fabric of SpHS. Our diversity is our strength, and I am committed to ensuring that every voice is not only heard but celebrated.  My vision for SpHS is rooted in excellence, empathy, and empowerment. So, this year we will focus on Academic Excellence, Social Emotional Well-being & Connectedness, and Student Agency

With that in mind, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and be Career and/or College Ready when they leave these halls.  We are fortunate to have dedicated teachers and staff who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities based on DoDEA standards to engage and empower our students!

We also are fortunate to have wonderful families who serve as equal partners in their students’ educational journey here at SpHS. To make this partnership meaningful, it is very important to stay informed about your students’ learning and school events.  We encourage families to actively talk about school and frequently check for communication through school webpage/Facebook, Google classroom, ASPEN SIS Gradebook, and other sources of communication (emails, phone calls, newsletters, etc.). Together, we will create an environment where every student feels inspired to learn, every teacher/staff member is supported in the mission, and every family contributes to the seamless operation of our school. Communication will be key on this journey. I encourage an open dialogue – share your ideas, your concerns, and your triumphs. I am here for each and every one of you. My door is always open.

I invite you to visit and bookmark our:

  • Prioritize SAFETY: Protection from harm, danger, or risk while fostering a space where everyone feels valued, supported, and welcome.
